Sea of Thieves is a sandbox style create your own adventure game brought to us by Rare and Microsoft. It’s Pirate themed and has ridiculously beautiful sea art.

The goal is to grab a ship, either solo, or with 1, 2, or 3 other players (there are 3 ship sizes to cover these options). You gather supplies and acquire missions of three main types. There are missions for the order of souls that involve fighting hordes of skeletal pirates to gather skulls to turn in. Missions for the gold hoarders who want treasure chests and trinkets. And missions for the traders who want you to ship goods about the map.

You can fight the skeletons and other players. Like a real pirate you can board another group’s ship and pilfer all their loot and sink their ship if you feel like it because why not you are a pirate.

It’s a game best enjoyed with friends and can provide hours of fun messing about, intense battles, and PVE elements like giant sharks (megalodons) that will try eat you and your boat.
